A New Teaching Assistant who likes to go Travel - Katrin Schmidt

As we know, there are a lot of international intern students come from different countries to being the teaching assistant or to learn Chinese language at Da-Yeh University. In this issue, we would like to introduce a special one who has many travel experiences and likes to try something different in various countries. Her name is Katrin Schmidt, a new teaching assistant in the Department of European Languages, who came from Germany.
我們知道，大葉大學裡有許多來自不同國家的實習生，他們在學校擔任助教的工作或是來大葉學習中文。在這一期裡，我們將介紹一位特別的助教，她有許多旅遊經驗，並且喜歡嘗試各個國家不同的新事物。她的名字是Katrin Schmidt，來自德國，目前在本校的歐語系擔任助教工作。
Katrin Schmidt is a student from Technische Universität in Dresden who majors North American Studies, Sociology and Art History. She came to DYU to be an intern and also start to work on her final thesis. She got the information of internship in DYU by the website of her university in Germany. Katrin considered that DYU seem particularly attracted her because of the monthly scholarship, free accommodation and the Chinese course. So, she decided to choose DYU to accomplish her practical training.
Katrin Schmidt 是一位來自德國德勒斯登市的工業大學的學生。她主修北美研究學、社會學、以及藝術歷史。她來大葉大學來完成她實習生的工作並且為她的論文做準備。Katrin是由她在德國大學的網頁上面得知大葉大學招收外籍實習生的資訊，而她認為大葉大學最吸引她前來的原因是學校每個月固定提供獎學金給外籍生，及提供免費的宿舍和中文的學習課程。基於這些優點的考量，她決定選擇大葉大學來完成她的實習生活。
Fortunately, when Katrin arrived DYU, many students and friends help her to solve some problems such as daily life problems or administrative tasks. She felt that people in Taiwan are so keen and friendly, and they always open their arms to welcome her. Besides, Katrin also like the food in Taiwan. Thought she is a vegetarian, she has been greatly enjoying the food here.
很幸運地，當Katrin剛到大葉大學時，許多同學與朋友幫她解決了不少問題，像是日常生活上的問題或是行政方面的事務。她覺得台灣人總是那麼熱心與友善，每個人總是張開雙臂迎接她的到來。此外，她也喜歡台彎的食物。雖然她是一位素食者，但她認為她十分享受台灣的各種食物。
However, it is really common for a foreigner to have some culture shock when they visit a new country, but Katrin doesn’t have any culture shock when she came to Taiwan. Because she likes to try different kinds of thing which she never seen before, therefore, she can accept something different from her country easily. On the other hand, Katrin have traveled to many place in Taiwan, like Green Island, Taipei and Lu-Kung. Her favorite place is Green Island because of the amazing beautiful scenery and salt water hot springs.
然而，對於一位外國人來說，當到達一個新的國家，文化衝擊總是在所難免。但Katrin卻沒有任合的文化衝擊。因為她喜歡嘗試從前不曾遇過或看過的新事物，因此她更能輕易的接受個種不同的文化衝擊。另一方面，Katrin也造訪過台灣許多地方了，像是綠島、台北、鹿港。其中綠島是她最喜愛的景點，因為她認為那邊有美不勝收的景色以及海水溫泉。
During the semester at DYU, Katrin looks forward to understand about Taiwanese culture and getting to know Taiwanese people. She hopes that she can meet some new experiences which she never met before. Besides, she also helps her students at DYU can improve their knowledge of the German language and culture.
在大葉的這一學期的時間，Katrin期望能多瞭解台灣的文化以及多認識台灣的人。她也希望能再多遇到許多她未曾經歷過的事情，也希望她在大葉的學生們能在德語及德國文化方面的知識有所進步與增長。
